His Footseps Our Pathway

The scripture that I have quoted below is a beautiful piece that speaks of the promised blessing of God. It speaks to our hearts in a way that we can understand; painting a picture of the Lord's goodness.
I think that we all desire the Lord's blessing in our lives whether we know it or not; or should I say, whether we admit it or not.
Every human being on this earth desires the 'good' in life; the blessings, the joys, the pleasures, and why not? Is it wrong to desire good? I think not, but as I say that, I am reminded of what else this passage in the Bible speaks of. Just before, in verse 8, we see that the Psalmist writes of 'hearing what God the Lord will speak', and then ends with saying, 'But let them not return back to folly.'
How often do I just want the Lord's blessing in my life, but yet do not really position my heart and ears to hear what He has to say concerning that certain area in my life, for which I am so desiring His blessing. Do I really listen to Him in every area of my earthly life's walk? At the end of verse 8, we are then encouraged not to return unto our folly. We cannot be fully following the Lord and hearing His voice when we are deep into our own folly; that may seem harsh, but without Christ and His Holy Spirit we all would be just drowning in 'our own' folly.
It then says in verse 9, that, 'Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, that glory may dwell in our land.' We must set our hearts towards Him, to fear Him for He alone is worthy, and then only, can His glory be upon us and our land. May we all continue to not only desire His goodness and blessing, but also desire to hear Him, obey Him, fear Him and love Him... that 'He should make His footseps our pathway.'
