A Birthday Tea
On my twenty-fourth birthday, I was
delighted to have a tea in my honor, hosted
most graciously by my dear sister.
She made the name cards, and decorated the
table beautifully.
Aren't they just the prettiest things you've
ever seen?

The Walk
On Friday, October 10 we went on a walk and had
a picnic on my grandfather's farm, it was such
a beautiful day and all around were evident
signs of the handiwork of God.
Just the three of us girls went,
my dearest mother, and sister,
and me, of course.
While we were on top of a hill having our picnic,
my mother looked up and noticed a tree that had it's top
all aflame in color and light. She thought it looked as if the Lord's
glory were shining down upon us.
We tried to capture the perfect
beauty of it, but the photos don't even come close to the real thing.
'The Lord is high above all nations, His glory above
the heavens. Who is like the Lord our God, who dwells
on high, who humbles Himself to behold the things that
are in the earth?'
Psalm 113:4-6
'Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness,
and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with
goodness.'

While on our walk back to the house, we spotted this old stone
fence that was built long before my grandparents moved
there. I had always seen it through the woods, but had
never ventured in to really view it properly before that day.
It was really a piece of art, and must have taken
quite a long time to complete, seeing as it stretches for quite a ways
through his woods. It was fun to imagine the farmer and his sons
as they diligently worked on it, bit by bit, every day.
I kept wishing I would find an old love note hidden somewhere
in the wall, left behind only because the 'recipient' never found
it; but don't fear, because in the end, 'the two young lovers' did end up
getting married despite the lost note.
~Yes, I am 'that' crazy.~
'The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's; but the
earth He has given to the children of men. The dead do
not praise the Lord, nor any who go down to silence.
But we will bless the Lord from this time forth and forevermore.
